  General Notes:

The 1860 census recorded Thomas as born in Wales and his mother as born in Pennsylvania, whereas the earlier 1850 census recorded the birthplaces in reverse order. It seems likely the older woman was born in Wales and her son in Pennsylvania.

In 1870 Thomas Powell and his wife were living with their four children in French Creek Township, Venango County, Pennsylvania.

By 1880 the family had moved to Parker, Butler, Pennsylvania, and there ere seven children living with Thomas and Ann Powell. Walter was not included in the family entry. 2 3 4 7
