   Cause of her death was heart disease over 2 months, and dropsy.2

   Other names for Mary were ROORK, Mary, ROURK, Mary, ROURKE, Mary,2 TRAINOR, Mary 1 and TRAYNOR, Mary.2

  General Notes:

When the 1881 census recorded her family living at Boness Road in the parish of Bothwell, Lanarkshire, Mary was a widow.She had eight children age 22 years to 1 year. Her age was recorded as 36 years and her birthplace as Ireland.

Mary Traynor died in 1889. In her death certificate she was recorded as the "Widow of Lawrence Traynor, Blastfurnace Filler". She was 45 years old. Her mother was deceased. 1 2

  Medical Notes:

John Taylor, physician and surgeon, recorded the causes of death.

Hugh Traynor, Mary Rourke's son, who was present where his mother died, gave notice of her death before the registrar at Holytown on 7 June 1889 and made his X mark.

Mary married Lawrence TRAINER on 12 January 1859 in Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Lawrence TRAINER was born about 1836 and died before 3 April 1881.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was solemnised according to the forms of the Catholic Church by Duncan McNab, Catholic Clergyman of St Margaret's. The witnesses were Bartholomew Cauchlin and Margaret Rourk.

Lawrence was recorded as aged 23 years and of Chapelhall. Mary was aged 16 years and also of Chapelhall. No other detail about the couple, nor about their respective parents, was included in the marriage certificate.

Wm Landless, registrar, signed the registration of marriage at Airdrie on 18 January 1859.
