In the New Oriental Registry and East India Directory for 1802 there is a John Forbes More listed in the Register, in the list of Cadets for the Bengal Infantry.
The Asiatic Annual Register records a marriage in January 1806 at Lucnow between John Forbes More of the 1st regiment, native infantry, to the daughter of the late Colonel Richard Grueber. 1 2 3 4
