GORDON, Margaret 2

  • Born: About 1655
  • Marriage (1): DUFF, Alexander of Braco, WS in 1678 1
  • Died: 1721

Another name for Margaret was DUFF, Margaret Lady Farskane.1

   User ID: L794.

  General Notes:

Captain Wimberley in Cadets of Lesmoir: Birkenburn names the wife of Alexander Duff of Braco as Margaret, daughter of Sir James Gordon of Lesmoir. Since this couple married in 1678, it would seem this is inaccurate, and that she was the sister of Sir James, whose contract of marriage was 1676.

Margaret married Alexander DUFF of Braco, WS, son of Alexander DUFF of Keithmore and Helen GRANT, in 1678.1 (Alexander DUFF of Braco, WS was born in 1652 and died in December 1705.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander Duff of Braco, born 1652, died in December 1705; he married, in 1678, Margaret Gordon of Lesmoir, who died 1721."

from Book of the Duffs
