  • Died: 19 February 1745 1

  General Notes:

(at Alvah in 1718)
JAMES STEUART, son of Walter S., and nephew of John S. of Ryland; educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen; M.A. (1686); licen. by Presb. of Turriff 18th Aug. 1702; adm. to Ordiquhill 3rd Jan. 1710; trans, to Inverkeithny 9th Jan. 1717; dem. 1st May, and adm. here 13th May 1718 ; died unmarr. 19th Feb. 1745, aged about 65.

from Fasti Ecclesiae
Note: If james was 65 years old at death it would give hime a year of birth about 1680, and this is rather late if his M.A. was granted in 1686, so his birth was most likely at least 10 years or possibly up to 15 years before 1680. moreover Isobel his mother is said to have been dead by early 1672.
