Another name for Walter was STUART, Walter Portioner of Bogtoune. User ID: Y527. General Notes: In 1643 Walter Stewart granted a charter to his wife Isobell Mitchell, with the consent of his brother Thomas Stewart and his wife Marjorie Gordonne in return for '3000 pounds money of this kingdom of Scotland', in liverent for all the days of her life, of the lands of Muiryhill and Herod Hill and Moss of Muiriehill [sic] within the parish of Alvah, Banffshire. Walter Stewart's brother Patrick was present at the transaction, as was Arthur Mitchell, brother of Isobell. Walter married Isobell MITCHELL, daughter of Reverend Mr Thomas MITCHELL of Gask, Minister of Udny, Logie-Buchan, & Turriff and Barbara MELDRUM, after 20 November 1643. (Isobell MITCHELL was born about 1626 and died on 8 February 1672.) |
