"X. William (Forbes), who married Elizabeth Smith. He sold Corsindae and bought the estate of Badsley, Southampton, dying s.p. in 1750. The direct line, therefore, died out completely, but the succession was considered to fall to the family of Asloun, descended from John, third son of the 7th Laird."
