"Sir John, of Innerpeffray, said to have married, first, the daughter of his uncle, James Drummond of Coldoch, and, secondly, Eliza Douglas of Lochleven, but there is no proof of this.

He had a son,

(1) John, who married Margaret Stewart, natural daughter of King James IV. and widow of John, Lord Gordon, eldest son of Alexander, third Earl of Huntly. They had five daughters co-heiresses, one of whom, Agnes, having been married, first, to Sir Hugh Campbell of Loudoun, and, secondly, in 1562, to Hugh, third Earl of Eglinton, married (contract 15 November 1585), as his second wife, her kins-man, Patrick, third Lord Drummond."
