He marr. 15th Sept. 1767, Cecilia, (died 10th April 1784, aged 45), daugh. of Patrick Reid, min. of Clatt, and had issue Theodore, M.D., army surgeon, born 1st July 1768; Thomas of Overhall, in Jamaica (twin), born 1st July 1768, died on his passage home 15th June 1807; Peter (or Patrick) in U.S.A., born 24th Jan. 1770; Robert, born 15th July 1771; Forbes, born 1772, died 1801; John, born 14th July 1774, died 25th June 1820; Catherine, born 1778 (marr. , farmer, Achlyne); Margaret Ann, born 4th Feb. 1781, died 24th Dec. 1811; Jane, died 10th Jan. 1835.
