"George William Algernon Gordon, born 1737, son of Theodore G., min. of Kennethmont; educated at King's College; M.A. (30th March 1753); licen. by Presb. of Alford 30th Aug. 1758; ord. to Tullynessle 3rd Oct. 1759; pres, by Sir Arthur Forbes of Craigievar before 20th March, trans, and adm. 6th Aug. 1771; died at Linton, Cluny, 28th May 1794. He marr. 15th Sept. 1767, Cecilia, (died 10th April 1784, aged 45), daugh. of Patrick Reid, min. of Clatt, and had issue Theodore, M.D., army surgeon, born 1st July 1768; Thomas of Overhall, in Jamaica (twin), born 1st July 1768, died on his passage home 15th June 1807; Peter (or Patrick) in U.S.A., born 24th Jan. 1770; Robert, born 15th July 1771; Forbes, born 1772, died 1801; John, born 14th July 1774, died 25th June 1820; Catherine, born 1778 (marr. , farmer, Achlyne); Margaret Ann, born 4th Feb. 1781, died 24th Dec. 1811; Jane, died 10th Jan. 1835.
