"John Forbes of Culloden, M.P., married in 1643 Anna, eldest daughter of Alex. Dunbar of Grange, and had six sons and two daughters :

Duncan, his heir. Sir David of Newhall, advocate and judge. Thomas, in Raitt, who married Jean Cuthbert. Alexander, went to America. Jonathan, M.D., married Jean Brodie of Lethen. John, of Pittencrieff, Lieut.-Colonel. Jean, married Sir Robert Munro of Fowlis ; and Naomi, married Robert Dunbar of Burgie. John died about 1688, and was succeeded by his eldest son."
