  General Notes:

Roseann McCafferty, his mother, gave notice of the birth of her son Felix. No father's name was recorded for the child and his birth certificate was marked as illegitimate.

The 1901 census for Blackfriars district of Glasgow records a child named Felix McCarron, aged 7 months, living at 29 Bridgegate with Rose Ann McCafferty, and her parents James and Agnes McCafferty whose grandson he was. He had been born in Glasgow.

Felix was a coalhill labourer according to the birth certificates of his daughters Catherine and Roseann.

Felix McCafferty was a forge labourer according to the marriage certificate of his daughter Catherine in 1944.

In birth certificates of other of his children Felix was a bus conductor and a fruitmarket storeman.

His address at time of death was 17 Prosen Street Glasgow. His son Felix, of 12 Cree Street Glasgow, was the informant of his death. 1


Felix married Catherine COOK, daughter of Patrick COOK Cotton Mill Storeman and Catherine JENNINGS, on 6 April 1923 in St Mary's RC Chapel, Glasgow, Scotland. (Catherine COOK was born on 13 August 1901 in Calton, Glasgow, Scotland 1 2 and died on 15 March 2003 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada 2.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The couple were married by Reverend Thomas McEwan DD Catholic Clergyman of St Mary's Abercromby Street Glasgow. The witnesses were Andrew Gibson and Ellen McCarron, both of 5 East Russell Street Glasgow.

Felix McCafferty was 22 years old and worked as a coalhill labourer. He was single and lived at 51 Cumberland Lane Glasgow. His mother was deceased.

Catherine Cook was a confectionery worker. She was a single woman, aged 21 years, and lived at 9 Abercromby Street Glasgow.

The marriage was registered at Glasgow on 9 April 1922.
