General Notes: "Salterhill passed from the hands of this Irish-parson group of Gordons (James Gordon in Comber) into that of James Gordon, mason and burgess of Inverness, from whom its superior, the laird of Gordonstown, had borrowed money. He had no son, his three daughters being served heir to him. It then came into the keeping of an Alexander Gordon, who is said (though I cannot prove it) to have been a greatgrandson of Sir Alexander Gordon of Lesmoir." Research Notes: SALTERHILL Alexander married Isobel KING, daughter of John KING tenant in Plewlands, Factor to the Earl of Sutherland and Barbara ELLIS.1 (Isobel KING was born about 1644 and died on 21 February 1711 in Kinneddar, Drainie, Moray, Scotland 1.)
