"Gordon, Alexander, of Dorlaithers, sen. Eldest son of George Gordon of Dorlaithers and Barbara Mackenzie of Ardloch. Survived Culloden, with his servant John Pirie, to whom he gave a liferent tack of Woodend, together with John Pirie his son. He died 2 June 1763, aged 58, and is buried with his wife Helen, second daughter of Alexander Irvine of Drum, who died 6 December 1764, aged 64."

Alexander married Helen IRVINE, daughter of Alexander IRVINE of Murthill, then 13th of Drum and Jean IRVINE, on 29 May 1729 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 (Helen IRVINE was born about 1700 2 and died on 6 December 1764 2.)
