Sarah McInarney's marriage certificate of 1857 recorded her father Michael as a miner.

In 1858, Michael's daughter, Elizabeth married. In her marriage certificate Michael was recorded as being a collier.

Michael McInerney was a coal miner, according to his son, Francis' marriage lines in 1860.

Michael's wife, Elizabeth, died in 1869, and he was the informant of her death before the registrar at Coatbridge and made his X mark. In her death certificate he was recorded as being an iron miner.

In 1869, the death certificate of his son, Patrick, recorded Michael's occupation as that of iron miner.

In 1894, Michael's son, Francis, died. Michael was already deceased, as Francis's death certificate records, and had worked as a labourer.

Michael was recorded as a farmer in the death certificate of his daughter, Elizabeth, in 1911. 4 5


Michael married Elizabeth GRIBBEN, daughter of James GRIBBEN and Catherine McLACHLAN. (Elizabeth GRIBBEN was born about 1815 and died 10 June 1869 at 2.00 am in 5 Rosehall, Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of her death was bronchitis over 6 weeks.
