Alexander Leslie did marry a Margaret Forbes of Towie-Forbes, but she was the sister and not the daughter of Alexander Forbes of Towie. The daughter of Alexander Forbes was married in the late 1540s to John Coutts of Auchtercoul. ^{1 3}
