  Marriage Notes:

"He (William Crichton) married, prior to the year 1478, Marion Livingston, daughter of James, Lord Livingston, an alliance probably intended to finally end the long-continued rivalry of the two families. He is said to have been greatly attached to her, and so incensed by the discovery that she had been seduced by King James III. that he retaliated by deliberately debauching Margaret, the King's youngest sister, a Princess of great beauty, but of a reputation that was more than loose."
