This man, a cousin of Sir Patrick Strachan of Glenkindie, purchased Glenkindie in 1738, twelve years after Sir Patrick Strachan died. He bought it for his son, also called Alexander Leith. (Strachans of Glenkindie) 2

  Noted events in his life were:

1. acquired Freefield & Bonnytoun from George Keith, 26 January 1702.

2. charter erects these lands into Barony of Freefield, 26 January 1705.

3. bought Glenkindie from cousin Patrick Strachan, 1738.


Alexander married Christian DAVIDSON, daughter of Alexander DAVIDSON younger, of Newton, Advocate and Issobell LESLIE.1 (Christian DAVIDSON was baptised on 4 December 1687 in Edinburgh parish, Edinburgh, Scotland 3.)


  Marriage Notes:

"Alexander Leith of Freefield and Glenkindie was born circa 1664. He was the son of James Leith of New Leslie and Margaret Strachan. He married Christian Davidson, daughter of Alexander Davidson. He died in 1754."
