Another name for Alexander was GORDEN, Alexr.2 General Notes: "...in Mair, Records of Ellon. The said entry, from the Kirk Session register, was a list of Papists. The said entry reads, in part, as follows: "In a list of Papists given up by parish ministers, by order of the Privy Council, at the commencement of the reign of Queen Anne; those in Ellon are: Alexander Gordon of Coldwells, his sisters, Jean and Mary, and their mother.." Alexander married Margaret LUNAN, daughter of Reverend Mr Alexander LUNAN Minister of Daviot and Janet ELPHINSTONE, in 1707.1 (Margaret LUNAN was born about 1691.) |
