"The Newton MS. says he (Alexander Gordon) was married to the 'laird of Newmachar's' daughter.

A birth brieve granted in 1718 to John Gordon of the Coldwells family says that this Alexander was of Kinguidy which is in Bourtie, and that he married Marjorie, daughter of William Seaton of Newmachar."
