John married Marjorie CHEYNE of Arnage, daughter of William CHEYNE 8th of Arnage and Unknown. (Marjorie CHEYNE of Arnage was born about 1607.)

  Marriage Notes:

"Marjorie Cheyne married John Gordon of Coldwells. An entry in the Jacobite Cess Roll, 1715, reads: 'John, 1st of Coldwells. Married in 1645 Marjory Cheyne of Arnage'. But they were listed as married in Aberdeen Sheriff's Court documents dated, 4 Feb 1643. They were probably married before 1638, which is the earliest Register of Marriages in Ellon Parish. They were not found in the Register of Marriages 1638-1819."
