Replying to a query on Glenbuchat Ancestors email circular regarding the identity of 'Mr Forbes' who had been named in a transcription of baptisms in Glenbuchat parish records, Suzanne Walker replied:

"That would be "Mr" as in "Mister" Forbes. Comparing the old and new transcriptions of the 200/1 volume, he's also identified as Lieut Capt. Forbes.

Fort Ticonderoga was formerly named Carillon. During the 1758 Battle of Carillon, 4,000 French defenders were able to repel an attack by 16,000 British troops near the fort. 6


Charles married Isabella DONALDSON 'of Kinardie' on 9 November 1741 in Saint Nicholas parish, Aberdeen, Scotland.1 (Isabella DONALDSON 'of Kinardie' was born about 1720 2 and died on 1 January 1798 7.)
