PARENTS
Mother Bedford website places Thomas Muirhead, Minister of Cambusnethan, as the son of James Muirhead and Elizabeth Houston.
This placing is, frankly, impossible. He took office in his first parish, Shotts, immediately after completing his degree at the University of Glasgow in 1591. Therefore he must have been born by 1575 or 1576, and probably earlier. 1
