Catherine's age was a mere 7 months when she was recorded by the 1851 census. She had been born in Borrowstouness (Bo'ness) parish where she was now living with her family.




In 1861 the census again recorded Catherine. She was living with her family at 107 Marshall Street, Wishaw. Her birthplace was noted as Linlithgowshire and her age as 11 years.




The Poor Law records of 1862 recorded that Catherine was aged 11 years and dependant on her mother. 1
