  General Notes:

No baptism or birth record has been found for Catherine as yet. A Church Baptism Record available through the Irish Family History Foundation shows a Jane Dowd whose parents have the same names as Catherine's parents, as recorded in her 1904 death certificate, was baptised in Seagoe parish, County Armagh in 1836. There is also a Burial/Death Record for an Edward Dowde of Ballynamoney, Seagoe parish, County Armagh, most likely Catherine's father, dated 1844.

In 1901 the census recorded Catherine McConnachie, aged 59 years, living at 35 Omoa Square, Cleland, in the parish of Shotts with her son's family and her husband. Catherine had been born in Ireland.

Catherine McConnachie died in 1904, less than two months after her husband. In her death certificate she was recorded as 'widow of James McConnachie labourer'. Her recorded age at death was 50 years, a very low figure not in keeping with her recent census entry in 1901 of 59 years, nor compatible with her year of marriage. Both of her parents, Edward Douds and Ellen Lavery, were deceased. 3 4 6 11

  Medical Notes:

Patrick Donnelly, Catherine's son in law, was the informant of her death. 4

Catherine married James McCONAGHEY, son of Michael McCONAGHEY younger, in Annaloist (DNA Linked) and Margaret O'NEILL (DNA Linked), on 24 February 1859 in Seagoe RC parish, County Armagh, Ireland.1 (James McCONAGHEY was baptised on 19 October 1838 in Shankill RC parish, County Armagh, Ireland 12 and died 19 February 1904 at 4.10 am in Omoa Square, Cleland, Lanarkshire, Scotland 13.). The cause of his death was fibroid phtisis of 1 year's duration.
