In the Church Baptism record (see above) transcribed and made available by the Irish Family History Foundation, James McConaghey's address was recorded as Cornikimagan. The baptism was a Roman Catholic one that took place in Shankill parish. There were two baptismal sponsors. The first was Arthur McConaghey and the second was Eliz. O'Neill.

In 1895 the daughter of James McConnachie, Ellen McConnachie, was married to Patrick Donnelly. James McConnachie was recorded in his daughter's marriage certificate as a quarry labourer.

James McConnaghie was recorded as a quarry labourer in the marriage certificate of his son Michael McConnaghie at Motherwell in 1896.

The 1901 census for the western district of Shotts parish in Lanarkshire recorded James McConnachie as head of the household at 35 Omoa Square Cleland. As well as himself, the household comprised his wife, his son and daughter in law and their 2 small children. James was a quarry labourer. He had been born in Ireland and was recorded as aged 60 years.

James was described as a quarry labourer in the death certificate of his son Michael in 1902.

James was aged 47 years of age at the time of death in 1904. He had been a quarryman. He was survived by his wife Ellen.

Whe his wife Catherine died in 1904 James was already dead, less than 2 months earlier. In her death certificate she was recorded as "widow of James McConnachie labourer."

In 1947 James McConnachie's daughter Helen died. James was recorded in her death certificate as a 'quarry labourer deceased'. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10

  Medical Notes:

John Lithgow MD certified the cause of James' death.

Patrick Donnelly, his son in law, who was present gave notice of James' death to William McGill, registrar, at Cleland on February 19 1904.

NB Patrick may have been his brother in law rather than son in law?
