WALKER, Elizabeth ¹

   Cause of her death was general debility and disease of the stomach.

   Other names for Elizabeth were SEMPLE, Bridget,⁵ SEMPLE, Elizabeth,² WALKER, Bridget ⁵ and WALKER, Elisabeth.⁶

  General Notes:

In 1851 the New Monkland census recorded Elizabeth, her husband and two children living in the Clarkston area of Airdrie. Elizabeth was recorded as 28 years old and born in Ireland.

The cenus of 1881 recorded Elizabeth and her husband and 2 sons living at 9 Thomason's Land in New Monkland parish. Elizabeth's age was recorded as 57 and her birthplace as Ireland. She was noted as being a housekeeper by occupation.

Elizabeth Semple died in 1908 at the recorded age of 85. Her death certificate also recorded that she was the widow of Solomon Semple, labourer. Her parents were both deceased. ^{2 3 4}

Mary Ann McKillop, daughter of the deceased who had been present, gave notice of her mother's death before Alexander Jack, registrar, at Caldercruix on October 19 1908. ²

Elizabeth married Solomon SEMPLE, son of James SEMPLE and Margaret INGLIS. (Solomon SEMPLE was born about 1813 in Ireland ^{4 7} and died 13 June 1891 at 6.40 am in 141 Forrest Street, Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland ⁷.). The cause of his death was chronic bronchitis and gastric catarrh.
