The 1900 US Census for Columbia County Oregon recorded Nellie Jones as married for 9 years and a mother of three children, living at Clatskanie Precinct. She was recorded as born in Oregon, and her parents as born in Scotland. She was born in March 1872 and was 28 years of age.

Grant Jones was the head of a household of five living in Clatskanie, Columbia County, Oregon, as recorded by the 1910 US Federal census. His wife Nellie, their son, Raymond, and their two daughters, Mabel and Gladys, lived there too. Nellie was 38 years old and had been married when she was 19 years old.
