  General Notes:

The 1841 census for Muirkirk recorded Mary McFaddin living at Old Linky-Burn with her husband and three children. She was recorded as 33 years of age and born in Ireland.

Mary McFadgean was recorded by the census of 1851 living in Burnfoot, Lesmahagow, with her husband, four children, and a nephew, James. Mary was recorded as 44 years old and was born in Ireland.

The census of 1861 recorded Mary McFadzean living at Newhouses in Auchenheath, Lesmahagow, with her husband and son. Her age was noted as 55 years and her birthplace as Ireland.

In the death certificate of her husband, Joseph McFadzen, in 1867, it was recorded that he was a coalminer and married to Mary Fisher.

The 1881 census for Lesmahagow recorded Mary McFadyen living at 9 Barrs Land alone. She was an annuitant, and the census recorded her age as 75 years and her birthplace as Ireland.

In her death certificate of 1886, Mary McFadyen was recorded as 'widow of Joseph McFadyen general labourer'. Her parents were deceased and her age at death was recorded as 80 years. ^{3 4 6 7}

Joseph McFadyen, son of the deceased who was present, gave notice of her death before the registrar, Duncan Campbell, at Lesmahagow on 21 August 1886. ²

Mary married Joseph McFADZEAN, son of John McFADZEN and Certificate Shows Blank McFADZEN. (Joseph McFADZEAN was born in 1804 in Ireland ^{4 5 6 7} and died 12 August 1867 at 7.pm in Auchenheath, Lesmahagow, Lanarkshire, Scotland ^{2 7}.). The cause of his death was not entered in certificate.²
