Mary Henry was recorded as aged 23 years and was born in Ireland. In 1851 when the census was taken she lived with her widowed mother and sister and brothers in Turfholm Street, Lesmahagow. She was unmarried and worked as a cotton handloom weaver.

Mary Henry, who had been present, gave notice of her mother's death before the registrar at Lesmahagow on 24 April 1873. ^{1 2}
