   Cause of her death was coller (sic) fracture, left, over 5 days and hypostatic pneumonia over 1 day.6

  General Notes:

Sarah Robertson gave notice on 3 September 1875 of the birth of her daughter Margaret two months before.

Sarah George was recorded by the census of 1891 living at Bridge Lodge in the parish of St Quivox with her husband James, four of his children and his older sister Agnes. Sarah's age was noted as 53 years and her birthplace as Maybole.

In 1901 the census recorded Sarah George still living at Bridge Lodge with her husband. Her daughter Maggie Miller was also living there. Sarah was recorded as aged 63 years and had been born in Maybole. She was recorded as a labourer's wife by occupation.

Sarah George "widow of James George estate labourer" died in 1930. Her death certificate recorded her as 93 years old at the time of her death. Her parents were, of course, deceased. Margaret Powell, Sarah's daughter, was the informant of her death. 4 6 7 8

Sarah next married James GEORGE (DNA Link), son of Samuel GEORGE (DNA Linked) and Rebecca REID (DNA Linked), on 3 December 1885 in Martnaham, Parish of Dalrymple, Ayrshire, Scotland.1 (James GEORGE (DNA Link) was born in 1831 in Crookedholm, Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland 9 10 and died 27 July 1902 at 5.30 am in Bridge Lodge, Auchincruive, Ayrshire, Scotland 11.). The cause of his death was bulbar paralysis.6


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The minister at Dalrymple, John Wallace, officiated. The witnesses were Alexander Melville and Mary Robertson.

James George, of Whitletts, St Quivox, was a widower of 53 and worked as a farm labourer. Both of his parents were deceased.

Sarah Robertson was an unmarried woman who worked as a domestic servant. Her residence was noted as Seatower, Ayr, and she was 47 years old. Her parents too were deceased.

The marriage was registered on December 4 1885 at Dalrymple, William Clark being the signing registrar. 1
