General Notes: The 1901 census for Blantyre Lanarkshire recorded John Gallagher aged 19 years, a coal miner, living with his parents and siblings at 38 Merrys Rows. He had been born in England, and was the eldest of six children recorded in the entry. John married Catherine LYNCH, daughter of James LYNCH (DNA Linked) and Elizabeth CAVANAGH (DNA Linked), on 31 December 1910 in St Joseph's RC Chapel, Blantyre, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Catherine LYNCH was born 13 March 1893 at 4.00 am in McAlpine's Land, Auchenraith, Blantyre, Lanarkshire, Scotland 4 and died in Australia.) Marriage Notes: The marriage took place after Banns and according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. Thomas Hackett was the celebrant priest and the witnesses were Martin Gallacher [sic] and Catherine Kelly. |
