General Notes: In 1916 James was stationed on military service at Currie. He had been a grocer. James married Rebecca TWEEDLEY, daughter of Samuel QUIGLEY (DNA Link) and Agnes RAIT, on 13 September 1916 in Young Men's Institute, Motherwell, Lanarkshire, Scotland.1 (Rebecca TWEEDLEY was born 10 January 1895 at 9.30 pm in 22 Duke Street, Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5 6 and died 1 December 1950 at 2.00 am in Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, Scotland 7 8.). The cause of her death was carcinoma of head of pancreas with secondaries of approximately 5 months' duration. Marriage Notes: The marriage was conducted according to the forms of the established Church of Scotland. The solemnising minister was D. McDonald B.D., Minister of South Dalziel. The witnesses were Charles Stewart and Jeannie Scott. |
