In James Nisbet's marriage certificate of 1904, his mother was recorded as 'Jane Nisbet MS Stark'.

Forth was a village in the parish of Carnwath in east Lanarkshire, Scotland. 2


Jane married Henry NISBET, son of Andrew NISBET and Jean CELLET, on 17 August 1877 in Forth, Carnwath Parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland. (Henry NISBET was born on 13 November 1857 in Cambusnethan parish, Lanarkshire, Scotland and died after 4 November 1904.)


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The minister was Robert S. Millar, Minister of Forth, Parish of Carnwath. The witnesses were William Nisbet and Christina Stark.

Henry Nisbet was a single man of 20 years of age who worked as a coal miner. He lived in Forth, in the parish of Carnwath. Both of his parents were deceased.

Jane Gilchrist was an 18 year old single woman, also resident in Forth. She worked as a farm servant.

The marriage was registered at Carnwath of 18 August 1877, J. R. Russel being the registrar.
