  Research Notes:

WALTER QUIGLEY

There are two men named Walter Quigley of the same ancestral family, who may be easily confused. The common ancestors of both were John Quigly, born Ireland in the 1790s and his wife Catherine Lynas, born in Scotland in 1798.

One Walter Quigley was the grandson of John Quigly's son Arthur and his wife James Thomson. The other was the grandson of John Quigly's son James and his wife Jean Millar.

The two Walters were born about the same time, but in two different parts of Washington State USA.

The Walter who was the grandson of James Quigley and Jean Millar was born in September 1894 in Columbia County, Oregon. His parents were Arthur Quigley and Lydia Barnes, married in 1888.

The Walter Quigley who was the grandson of Arthur Quigley and Jane Thomson sometimes gives 1 May 1894 as his birthday, sometimes 1 May 1895, and he was born in Kelso in Cowlitz County in the state of Washington USA. His parents were Arthur Quigley and Adda, or Alta, Jervey.
