  General Notes:

Francis' birth certificate for 18 March 1859 recorded his address as 65 Aitchison Street Airdrie. His father Patrick was a coal miner and it was Patrick who notified the birth of his son on 22 March 1859 and made his X mark witnessed by the registrar.

The baptism record for Francis is indexed in GRO RC Baptisms as "Francis McFerney".

Francis was the youngest of seven children living with their parents at 1 Clarkson's 2nd Land, Coatdyke, according to the 1861 census for Old Monkland Parish. He was 2 years old, yet recorded as a scholar! His birthplace was Airdrie.

According to the 1871 census he and his family were living in the parish of Gartsherrie in Old Monkland, in the hamlet of Coatdyke. Their address was 1 Clarkson's Land. Their living area had at least one room with a window. Living there were his father, Patrick, his mother Catherine, his brother John, and his sister Elizabeth. Francis was aged 12 years and he was described as a coal miner. He was born in New Monkland Parish.

'Francis McAnerney', a single man who was a coal miner, died in 1885 at the recorded age of 25 years. 2 5

Alma Tudhope MB CM certified the cause of death.

John McAnerney, brother of the deceased, who was present where the death occurred, gave notice of Francis' death before the registrar, Andrew Baird, at Calderbank, on 3 December 1885.
