Euphemia was born at 6.00 am, the last child of a large family., and the only one to be registered as Tweedly.

The 1881 census recorded Euphemia living at 59 Lethan Hill, Dalmellington, Ayrshire. She was aged 5 years but nevertheless termed a 'scholar'. Her father was a widower and Euphemia was the youngest of his six children living with him.

No death certificate has been found for her.
