   Cause of his death was apoplexy.1

   Other names for Charles were HAIMES, Charles 4 5 and HARMES, Charles.3

  General Notes:

In 1881 'Charles Harmes' was living with his wife Martha and son Andrew at 270 leith Walk, Leith. He was a mason, 27 years old and born in Hawick.

In his death certificate, Charles was recorded as a grocer married to Martha Tait, at the time of his death, and aged 42 years. His mother was deceased but his father still living. 1

Marton Burnet MB certified the cause of death.

Archibald Cuthbert, who was the brother in law of Charles and had been present where he died, gave notice to the registrar at Edinburgh on 25 September 1895 of the death of Charles. 1


Charles married Martha TAIT. (Martha TAIT was born about 1855 and died after 1894.)
