Ann Sherry was recorded as 6 years of age by the 1871 census for Hamilton. She lived with her family at 11 Low Patrick Street in Hamilton where she was born.

The 1881 census for Silvertonhill Colliery Hamilton recorded Michael and Elizabeth Clark and their six children living there. With them lived Rose Ann Sherry a 16 year old general servant who had been born in Hamilton. A boarder Robert Logan also lived there. ^{2 3}
