When Christina was born in Temple in 1880, it was her father, George Gordon, who notified the registrar, James Low, on 27 May 1880.
Christina was only 10 months old when she was recorded by the 1881 census, living with her parents and family in Liberton, Edinburgh. She was the youngest of their children at that time. She was born in Temple, Edinburgh.
The 1891 census recorded Christina as aged 10 years and living in Linlithgow. She was a scholar. Her birthplace was the same as that of her brother, James: Temple, Midlothian.
Normina Winton's daughter, named as Christina H. Newbigging, who had been present where the death occurred, gave notice of her mother's death before William Connelly, registrar, at Glasgow on 6 December 1937.

The informant was A. G. Newbigging, son of the deceased woman, of 6 Walter Street, Glasgow, who had been present where his mother died. He gave notice of his mother's death before William Connelly, registrar, at Glasgow on 23 October 1943.

The groom was a single man, 23 years of age, who worked as a labourer and lived at 133 Princes Street, Crenshaw, Manchester. His father, Robert Newbigging, a labourer, and his mother, Elizabeth Dickson, were living.
The bride was aged 20 years and worked as a domestic servant. She too was single. She lived at 89 Henderson Street Leith.
