Margaret married George Wright GORDON, son of George Strachan GORDON and Normina WINTON, on 26 June 1900 in The Manse, Mid Calder, Midlothian, Scotland.1 (George Wright GORDON was born 8 April 1876 at 8.50 am in 2 Stanley Place, North Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland and died 25 October 1953 at 9.00 am in Cannerby, Pumpherston, Mid Calder, Midlothian, Scotland 2.). The cause of his death was epithelioma of the hand over 7 months, forequarter amputation over 3 months, multiple metastasis over 1 month and toxaem.5


  Marriage Notes:

The marriage took place, after banns, according to the forms of the Church of Scotland. The minister was D. J. Moir Porteous BD, Minister of Mid Calder. The witnesses were James Gordon and Marion Simpson.

George Gordon was an unmarried man of 24 years of age. He worked as an oilwork labourer, and lived at Lagandarroch House, Pumpherston, Mid Calder.

Margaret Simpson was also 24 years of age and unmarried. She lived at 63 Pumpherston, Mid Calder, and worked as a domestic servant.

The marriage was registered on 27 June 1900 at Mid Calder, Samuel Hislop being the registrar. 1
