Christina was aged 16 years and unmarried, when recorded by the 1851 census living with her family in Laurieston. She was the second eldest child and daughter, and worked as an assistant in the dairy. ¹

CHRISTAN

'Chirstan', a form of 'Christine' seems to have been a traditional family given name among the Brand family in Cleish, Kinrosshire in the 18th century where Christine's mother, Margaret, was born.

Christina married Donald LAMONT, son of Archibald LAMONT and Margaret WHYTE, on 22 Jun 1794 in Mortlach Parish, Banffshire, Scotland.² (Donald LAMONT was born on 27 Oct 1801 ³ and was christened on 2 Nov 1801 in Stuck, Rothesay, Bute, Scotland ³.)
