  General Notes:

The 1861 census for Old Monkland Eastern District recorded Mary McConville with her husband Pat and their five children living there. She was recorded as 30 years of age.

It was Mary who informed the registrar of the death of her daughter Margaret in 1867.

Mary McConvey (sic) was the informant of her husband's death in August 1870.

The 1871 census for Langloan, Coatbridge recorded Mary McConvil, a widow, living with four sons in Back Row, Smellie's Land. Mary's age was recorded as 42 years and she was a housekeeper by occupation. She had been born in Ireland. The dwelling where the family lived had one room that had a window.

The 1881 cenus for Old Monkland recorded living at Brown's Square a widow named Mary McConville and two sons Patrick aged 19 years and Joseph aged 14 years. Mary's age was noted as 54 years and she had been born in Ireland.

Mary McConville, wife of Patrick McConville coal miner, was recorded as aged 60 years when she died in 1891. Both of her parents were deceased by then. 2 3

John Marshall LRCP certified the causes of death.

Patrick McConville, son of the deceased who was present where the death occurred, notified the registrar at Coatbridge, Edward Jack, on 27 August 1891 of his mother's death and made his X mark.


Mary married Patrick McCONVILLE, son of John McCONVEY and Murray PRENTICE, on 21 Jan 1845 in Loughgall RC parish, County Armagh, Ireland.1 (Patrick McCONVILLE was born about 1826 2 and died 24 August 1870 at 1.00 pm in Pound Street, Baillieston, Lanarkshire, Scotland 4.). The cause of his death was bronchitis over years and general anasurea over 2 months.
