   Cause of his death was congestion of the brain.

  General Notes:

His death certificate of 1881 gives William's age as 16 years and his occupation as assistant iron puddler. 3

  Medical Notes:

Thomas C. McGown MD certified the cause of death.

The informant was William's uncle, James McNamee who was present where the death occurred. He notified the registrar William Richard at Holytown on 9 August 1881


William married Thomas VALLELY, son of James VALLELY and Catherine McKEMMANY.1 2 (Thomas VALLELY was born about 1877 in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5 and died after 20 Jul 1896.)

"John Forbes

Married Isobel, daughter of Burnet of Leys, by whom he had three sons and two daughters: -

1. Alexander, his heir.

2. Arthur of Culquhanny.

3. John, called 'Blind John.'

4. Marjory, married to William Leith of Newlands, to whom she had a daughter Isobel, who on 22nd November, 1645, obtained by a jury at Aberdeen a certificate of her descent.

5. Another daughter died young."

"John, the 3rd Laird, called 'Bluebonnet,' had a sasine from Lord Elphinstone the year after his father's death and a charter from Alexander, Master of Elphinstone in 1591. He married Isobel Burnett of Leys, and had three sons and two daughters : Alexander, his heir, William of Culquhonny (see page 388), and John, called Blind John ; Marjory, married William Leith of Newlands ; and Isobel, died young.
John died in Aberdeen, January 28th, 1616"
