Thomas was recorded as a child of 4 years by the 1881 census living in Coatbridge where he had been born.

This son of James Vallely gave notice of his death before the registrar at Coatbridge on 20 July 1896. 1 2


Thomas married William McGUNNIGAL, son of William McGUNNIGAL and Mary Ann McNAMEE.3 4 (William McGUNNIGAL was born on 21 Jan 1865 in Dalziel, Lanarkshire, Scotland 5 and died 9 August 1881 at 8.30 am in Hamilton's Land, Holytown, Lanarkshire, Scotland.). The cause of his death was congestion of the brain.

"John Forbes

Married Isobel, daughter of Burnet of Leys, by whom he had three sons and two daughters: -

1. Alexander, his heir.

2. Arthur of Culquhanny.

3. John, called 'Blind John.'

4. Marjory, married to William Leith of Newlands, to whom she had a daughter Isobel, who on 22nd November, 1645, obtained by a jury at Aberdeen a certificate of her descent.

5. Another daughter died young."

"John, the 3rd Laird, called 'Bluebonnet,' had a sasine from Lord Elphinstone the year after his father's death and a charter from Alexander, Master of Elphinstone in 1591. He married Isobel Burnett of Leys, and had three sons and two daughters : Alexander, his heir, William of Culquhonny (see page 388), and John, called Blind John ; Marjory, married William Leith of Newlands ; and Isobel, died young.
John died in Aberdeen, January 28th, 1616"
