QUIGLEY, John ²

   Another name for John was TWIGLEY, John.³

  General Notes:

John was not included in the family entry for the census of 1851.

His son Peter married in 1855, and in his marriage certificate it was recorded that his father "John Twigley" was deceased and had been a labourer.

John was recorded as a 'carter' in his son Thomas' marriage lines on 7 March 1859. He was dead by that date.

When John Quigley's son Peter was married for the second time in 1875, Peter's marriage certificate recorded his father John as a 'handloom weaver deceased'.

In 1884 when his son Peter died, John Quigley was recorded as a "Carter (deceased)" by his grandson Thomas, who was the informant..

In 1896 John was recorded as "weaver (deceased) in the death certificate of his son, Thomas. ^{2 3 4 5}

John married Rose KEENAN. (Rose KEENAN was born about 1799 in Ireland and died after 28 Apr 1884 ^{2 4}.)

"Sir Wm. Forbes of Pitsligo, who was first knight of Kinaldie, who married dam Agnes Fraser, daughter to the Lord Fraser, with whom he got the lands of Pitsligo, in marriage, who did bear to him Sr Alexander Forbes. Sr Alexander Forbes did marrie the Earle of Erroll's daughter, who did bear to him Sr Alex. Forbes of Pitsligo, George Forbes, Arthur Forbes, who was Laird of Rirres, with four daughters; one married on John Gordon of Pitrevie; the 2d on the shirreff of Cromertie ; the 3d on the Laird of Moncoffer; and the 4th on the Laird of Balquhallie."
