The 1851 census recorded Sarah living with her mother and three siblings, Elizabeth, Patrick and Thomas, in Glasgow. She was aged 18 years.

In 1855 a Sarah Quigly was recorded as a witness at the marriage of Peter Quigly and Mary Ann Airley. It is likely to have been this Sarah Quigly.
