Alexander Nisbet was recorded in the 1841 census as 6 years old when the census was taken in Haddington. He had been born in East Lothian.

The 1851 census suggests that the enumerator of the 1841 census mixed up the ages of Thomas and Alexander. In the 1851 census Thomas, the elder of the two was recorded as 16 years, and Alexander as 11 years. Alexander was unmarried and was a scholar. His birthplace was Haddington.


Alexander married on 18 Apr 1599 in Contract.1
