The 1841 census for Clerkington in Haddington recorded Ann living with her husband and what were probably her children. Her age was recorded in the 35-39 years age range and she had been born outside of East Lothian.

In 1851 Ann Nisbet was again recorded by the census for Haddington, this time living at Poldrate. Ten years had made her a widow and head of a household of four sons and two daughters. She worked as laundress and her age was noted as 40 years. Her birthplace was recorded as Lauder Berwickshire.

Ann married Charles QUIGLEY, son of Daniel QUIGLEY and Margaret McGOLDRICK.¹ (Charles QUIGLEY was born on 9 Aug 1825 ² and was christened on 14 Aug 1825 in St Mary's RC Chapel, Greenock, Renfrewshire, Scotland ².)

Ann next married Alexander NISBET Mason, son of Francis NISBET Flesher and Euphemia THOMSON. (Alexander NISBET Mason was born on 15 Sep 1801 in Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland and died between 1846 and 1851.)
