Ann married Isabel GORDON, daughter of Robert GORDON in Knowhead and Margaret INNES.¹ (Isabel GORDON was christened on 6 May 1775 in Boharm Parish, Moray, Scotland ⁴.)

"p. 54, 1. 8 from foot, after '1565,' insert ' It is also stated (History of the Family of Burnett of Leys, New Spalding Club, p. 29 ; Macfarlane's Gen. Coll., ii. 244) that she (Elizabeth Lyon) was ultimately married to Alexander or Arthur Forbes of Echt, who survived her.' "

Ann next married Martin QUIGLEY, son of John QUIGLEY and Mary DOHERTY, on 17 Aug 1863 in St Mirin's RC Chapel, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.² (Martin QUIGLEY was born about 1828 in Ireland ^{6 7} and died 14 December 1908 at 3.15 pm in 19 Great Hamilton Street, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland ⁷.). The cause of his death was debility of age.

  Marriage Notes:

The marriage was celebrated after banns according to the rites and forms of the Roman Catholic Church. The priest who married them was Fr Thomas Donnelly, the Roman Catholic Curate, and the witnesses were William Shannagan and Catherine Woods. Both the witnesses and the couple being married made only their X mark in the register.

The groom, Martin, was 35 years old and an iron miner. He had not been married before. His usual residence was 7 Old Smithhills, Paisley. This address was given for the bride's residence too.

The bride, Ann, was also 35 years of age and had not been married. Both her parents were dead when she married.

Ann next married Margaret CAMPBELL.³ (Margaret CAMPBELL was born about 1870.)

"By his wife Elizabeth, daughter of John Lumsden of Cushnie, he (John Burnet, 10th of Leys) had a son Alexander, who succeeded him, and a daughter Margaret, who married (by contract dated 24th September, 1509) Alexander Forbes, son of the laird of Echt (who had formerly been married s.p. to Elizabeth Lyon, daughter of the laird of Glammis, and widow of John, Master of Forbes). George Forbes is mentioned in a contract of date 16th Nov., 1580, in the Leys charter room. Her son by her first husband was Robert Forbes of Echt."

The year of the marriage contract - '1509' - is a typographical error, probably for 1569. 'Alexander' must also be a typo - since the 8th laird was by other accounts named Arthur. ³
